| bi- | two or twice | biannual, biweekly |
| tri- | three | triangle, triathlon |
| multi- | many | multilingual, multimillionaire |
| mono- | one or single | monorail, monoplane |
| micro- | very small | microscope, microchip |
| ultra- | extreme | ultrasound, ultrabasic |
| hyper- | too much | hypersensitive, hypercritical |
| extra- | outside, or beyond | extraordinary, extrasensory |
